Her Story
About Lysa
Lysa Carre has built a distinguished 15-year career on the business and operations side of the legal industry, demonstrating a commitment to professional growth, leadership, and service. Her career began as an intern for a solo practitioner attorney launching his own firm. While completing her education, she steadily advanced over five years from intern to paralegal and office manager, gaining hands-on experience in legal operations, client service, and firm management.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a concentration in Pre-Law from SUNY Old Westbury and a Master of Arts in Public Relations from Hofstra University, Lysa continued to expand her expertise through a series of increasingly responsible positions. She spent two years as a legal assistant at a mid-sized law firm before joining Kirkland & Ellis, where she worked for three years supporting high-performing legal teams. She then spent three years at Cozen O'Connor, serving as executive assistant to one of the firm's leading shareholders in the New York office.
In May 2026, Lysa joined Freshfields, one of the world's premier global law firms and a member of the prestigious Magic Circle, as Executive Assistant to the Head of New York Private Equity. In this role, she supports a nationally recognized private equity leader who also serves as a professor at NYU School of Law, while providing additional support to other attorneys in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Passionate about professional development and mentorship, Lysa credits much of her success to the guidance and example of her mentor, Lynn, whose influence continues to shape her leadership style and approach to service. Outside of her professional responsibilities, she works with the Maryknoll Sisters, a nonprofit organization in her hometown, dedicating her weekends to supporting their mission and community initiatives.
Lysa strongly believes that meaningful influence is not defined by titles, but by the impact one makes through dedication, integrity, and service to others. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated that those in support roles can be powerful agents of success, leadership, and positive change.
