Lyssa Ann Buerano, SHRM-CP

Lyssa Ann Buerano is a People Business Partner Lead Fellow with Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding HR education and career opportunities for marginalized communities, particularly Black and Brown individuals. Over the course of seven years, she has built a career spanning logistics, freight forwarding, semiconductors, biotechnology, higher education, and the nonprofit sector. Her professional path began as an HR Admin Assistant at Brighton Machinery and has since grown to include employee relations work supporting a workforce of roughly 9,000 at Analog Devices, along with HR governance experience gained through a co-op at Biogen. In her current fellowship, she collaborates with organizational leaders on recruitment, onboarding, people operations, and internship programming, while also contributing to workforce planning and HR process improvements, including her involvement with the Summer Youth Employment Program in New York City.

Buerano's academic background reflects a deep commitment to the HR field. She holds a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, an MBA in Business Administration and Management from Philippine Christian University, and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management and Services from Houston Christian University, where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA. During her time at Houston Christian University, she served as President of the SHRM Student Chapter, leading the group to earn the SHRM Student Chapter Superior Merit Award and recognition as Best New Organization of the Year. She also served as Vice President of the Delta Mu Delta Kappa Tau Chapter, and her academic achievements have been further recognized through a National Academy of Human Resources scholarship and a Delta Mu Delta regional award. Her credentials include SHRM-CP certification, Certified Human Resources Associate of the Philippines, and additional training in ISO standards, risk management, and total quality management systems.

Beyond her formal career, Buerano is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management and HR Houston, and she remains devoted to giving back through volunteer work with Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow and the Summer Youth Employment Program NYC. She credits her achievements to her faith, perseverance, and the guidance of mentors who have invested in her growth, and she encourages young women entering the HR profession to stay grounded in their purpose and passion for helping others. Guided by values of service, faith, and resilience, Buerano continues to focus her work on creating meaningful opportunities for the next generation of HR professionals, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds.
