Her Interview
Ten minutes with MacKenzie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the incredible leaders and mentors who challenged me, encouraged my growth, and believed in my potential. I'm committed to continuous learning, staying adaptable, and leading with connection, heart, and clear communication.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the best pieces of career advice I’ve ever received was from a mentor who encouraged me to identify my three non-negotiables—and to leave salary and benefits out of the equation. That advice challenged me to think deeply about what truly matters to me, both professionally and personally. Those non-negotiables have become the foundation for how I make career decisions, helping me stay aligned with my values and show up authentically in every role I take on.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Come in strong, and learn to stay strong. Sometimes in a room, we may not be the loudest voice, or we may not have that seat at the table. But come in as a strong presence and know the value of who you are, because you're going to need to defend that value.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in the field include internal pushback when introducing new, innovative, and creative ideas to teams that have been around for a longer time. On the international side, challenges arise from geopolitical situations happenings as well as cultural differences — such as varying communication styles, different work cultures, and time zone gaps — which require careful translation and management with executive teams.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Connection, heart, and communication. These three values are deeply intertwined — when you put your heart into something, you naturally seek to connect with people, and through communication, you ensure that others feel that same passion and dedication you bring to everything you do.
