About Macy
Macy Malcolm is the founder of LABNOIRE, also known as Le Beauty Noir, a beauty brand dedicated to inclusive, affordable, and vegan-friendly cosmetics. Based in the Greater New Orleans region, Macy combines her lifelong passion for makeup with a vision of making beauty accessible to people of diverse skin tones, ages, and backgrounds. Inspired by her experiences as a woman of color, she recognized the need for more inclusive shade options and products that celebrate individuality. Through LABNOIRE, she aims to offer quality cosmetics that provide a luxurious experience at accessible prices while encouraging customers to express themselves confidently and authentically.
Macy's entrepreneurial journey is guided by her commitment to inclusivity, self-expression, and family. Drawing inspiration from her mother, who shares her appreciation for beauty products, she developed a brand that reflects the importance of quality, affordability, and personal confidence. She believes makeup should enhance natural beauty rather than dictate how people define themselves. In addition to building her business, Macy volunteers with Heroes of NOLA, a nonprofit organization that prepares high school students for the workforce. Through its Mentor Mondays initiative, she helps young people develop practical skills, strengthen their confidence, and explore diverse career opportunities.
Macy holds a Master of Liberal Arts from Louisiana State University, where she studied from 2021 to 2023, and earned a background in liberal arts and social sciences, with a focus on criminal justice and law enforcement administration, from Alabama State University. Beyond her professional and community commitments, she enjoys reading, painting, journaling, spending time at the park, and creating vision boards to clarify her personal and professional goals. Guided by her belief in continuous growth and the importance of exploring different possibilities, Macy encourages others, particularly young women, to avoid limiting themselves to a single path. Through her entrepreneurship and volunteer work, she remains committed to promoting individuality, empowering others, and creating opportunities for people to realize their potential.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute much of my success to my mother, who inspires me and serves as the foundation of my brand. Family plays an important role in everyone’s journey, and having someone who supports and believes in me motivates me to keep going. Being able to share my accomplishments with her and say that she helped make them possible is truly inspiring.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to never limit myself to one path or label. I believe in exploring opportunities that align with my passions and following where my heart leads me. Every experience is a stepping stone toward personal growth and becoming the best version of myself.
