Prior to her current role, Maddy held leadership positions at MarketWatch and Arizent, where she honed her expertise in editorial operations, project management, and content innovation. She has served as deputy commerce editor, managing editor, and director of editorial operations, spearheading cross-brand initiatives, digital content strategy, and multimedia projects, including the creation of podcasts addressing systemic issues in financial services. Her work has been recognized with multiple Jesse H. Neal Awards, reflecting her commitment to excellence in journalism and editorial leadership.

Maddy holds a Master’s degree in Business and Economic Reporting from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Sarah Lawrence College. What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of hard work, strong support systems, and a team I trust. Leading a team of 15 freelance editors has taught me the importance of collaboration and leveraging each person’s unique strengths. As a Content Strategist, I’ve learned to look beyond hierarchy and seek out mentors who inspire growth and challenge me to improve continuously. Outside of work, I bring the same passion to my personal life—whether it’s indulging my love for bar trivia, skiing, or spending time with my two Siberian cats, Alfie and Nelson. Balancing dedication, curiosity, and support has been key to both my professional and personal fulfillment.
