About Madeline

Madeline OKeefe works in development for a power generation company based in the Bay Area, California. She graduated from Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee, in May 2020, where she studied engineering. Her interest in the energy industry began during her sophomore year, inspired by the need to address climate change through decarbonization strategies and carbon capture in the power generation sector. In her role, she engages in a multidisciplinary set of responsibilities that include attending town halls to hear local perspectives on carbon capture, evaluating new technologies for integration, monitoring regulatory developments at federal and state levels, and exploring financing options for projects. She values integrity, discipline, passion, and community in both her professional and personal life. Among the career advice she has received, she highlights the importance of staying curious, and she encourages young women entering the male-dominated energy field to claim their seat at the table and ensure their voices are heard. She sees significant opportunities in the industry arising from the growth of artificial intelligence and its increasing demand on the grid, creating chances to creatively advance generation projects.
