Madeline Tobin is a commercial and industrial coatings sales professional based in Charlotte, North Carolina, with experience spanning industrial and residential coatings, commercial warehouse operations, product specialization, and multi-project management. Tobin began her career with Sherwin-Williams in 2016, where she benefited from the guidance of a supportive manager and developed a strong foundation in the coatings industry. She has since continued to advance her career and currently serves as an Assistant Store Manager with The Pittsburgh Paints Company. In her current role, Tobin combines technical product knowledge with customer service, sales, and operational expertise. A significant component of her work involves managing projects within a specific trade, coordinating multiple projects, and supporting customers with appropriate coating solutions. She has completed the required education to sit for the project management examination and plans to expand her career further into project management. Her areas of expertise include industrial and residential coatings sales, commercial warehouse operations, product specialization, project coordination, industrial safety, and environmental health and safety. Tobin attributes her success to a lifelong commitment to investing in herself, embracing continuous learning, and consistently challenging herself to grow. She believes in maintaining a balance between confidence and collaboration, standing firm in her knowledge and abilities while building productive relationships with others. As a mother, she is especially passionate about setting a positive example for her daughter and demonstrating that women can pursue and achieve the goals they set for themselves.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my commitment to continuous growth and learning. From a young age, I have always been motivated to invest in myself, challenge myself, and seek opportunities to learn and develop. I genuinely enjoy learning about new things, and that curiosity has continued to drive me both personally and professionally. Now, as a mother, I am especially inspired to lead by example for my daughter and show her that women can pursue whatever they set their minds to and achieve the goals they work toward. I am committed to maintaining that drive, curiosity, and spark for growth throughout every stage of my life.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering my industry to find the right balance between being confident, standing their ground, and building strong relationships with others. This is an industry where continuous learning and training are essential, especially as new people and new perspectives enter the field. Most importantly, I encourage women to trust themselves, remain confident in their abilities, and recognize that confidence grows with experience, knowledge, and every challenge they overcome.
