I've been working in my field for a decade, starting my career in 2011 in India, where I worked in various roles in tech and banking. My career began at American Express India when I was just starting out, and my manager Archana gave me my first chance at corporate. She mentored me, taught me everything from customer service to work ethics to grooming myself to be presentable in corporate career, and she was the one who encouraged me to pursue higher studies, which led me to gain my MBA degree. For the past 4 years, I've been working in the US as a senior compliance analyst in a bank in New York. My key responsibilities include detecting fraud, filing suspicious reports, sending OFAC reviews, and ensuring that all transactions are legitimate, with no fraud or money laundering happening through any of the transactions. Since we deal with international transactions, it's my responsibility to ensure that the money coming through is from legit accounts. Beyond my banking career, I've been maintaining a travel blog and Instagram for almost 8 years as my passion project and side hustle, which I started during COVID. I have around 30,000 monthly readers on my blog and 23,000 followers on Instagram. I've been to 33 countries and love exploring national parks in the USA, safaris in Africa, cuisine through India and Southeast Asia, and the culture and history of Europe. I live in Jersey City but come to New York every day for work, and I absolutely love the culture this city lets me experience, especially through food. My goal for the next 5 years is to start my own fusion cafe in New York City.
