Her Interview
Ten minutes with Madison
01What do you attribute your success to?
My parents always believed in me and fostered my creativity. They let me paint my room nine times and take up space in the house building things. My grandma said she made me from scratch. Having that support and a strong community of friends that build me up helps. As I get older, I push doubts aside and go through the motions until I get where I want to be.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
If you're going into a creative field, it can be pretty daunting because it's not always the safe choice, but you can really go far in it and it's worth the risk with the effort you put into it. Get more into marketing with your specific journey because you can go a lot further in a creative career if you've got more of a marketing and business understanding.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Independence is very important to me, especially as a woman. I look back at generations of women in my family and I'm the first woman on one side to get my master's, the first to own a home and live on my own. I'm very grateful for the opportunities I've had as a woman in this day and age and never want to take those for granted.
