Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the strong-willed men and women in my family, particularly my grandparents, who continue farming together at 81 and 83, and my parents, who support each other’s careers while continuously growing their own farming operation over the past 30+ years. My parents have always held my brothers and I to a higher standard; to excel, to contribute, and to use our heads and our hands for the good. I hold myself to that same standard today. My upbringing and the example set by these strong role models have shaped my work ethic, determination, and resilience.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

For young women entering the agricultural industry, my advice is to stay determined and persistent. There will be challenges. Stand tall and remain steadfast in all that you know and believe. Remain committed to your work and those you serve. If you do all of these things, there’s not much you can’t accomplish.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Personally and professionally, I value community involvement and giving back to my small town. I also hold family at the center of my life and career, and I strive to honor the lessons of hard work and dedication that I learned from them.
