About Madison
Madison Houser is currently a student in the sales program at the University of Houston, which she began attending nearly two and a half to three years ago. She has been in the sales program for about two years, during which she progressed through an interview-based selection process, took on a leadership role mentoring seven students in their first semester, completed a key account selling class where her team exceeded a $33,500 quota by selling $76,000, and earned an Advanced Sales Certificate upon graduation from the program. Houser has also worked as a sales intern for a home builder and, more recently, for a medical device company where she scheduled an average of 10 meetings per week and helped secure new business with a hospital. In her current role with the sales program, she oversees 63 students, coaches them on activities and role plays, and participates in interviews for incoming students. Additionally, she hit President's Club in her second semester by selling three times her monetary quota for a career fair. Houser is pursuing a second major in healthcare leadership management and is part of the First Generation Cougs and the Healthcare Administration Leadership Organization. She has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for four years. Her advice to young women entering sales emphasizes persistence, hustling toward goals, viewing no as not right now, and maintaining confidence in one's personal brand.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Once you have your mind set to it, you can achieve anything. Be persistent, hustle, work towards your goals. Every no is not gonna define who you are, it's just a not right now or maybe later. Position yourself in the best way possible and be confident in what you represent.
