About Madison

Madison Jones is a licensed cosmetologist and owner of a head spa suite in downtown Columbus, Georgia. With over 15 years in the beauty and wellness industry, she began her journey right after high school by attending Rivertown School of Beauty and obtaining her state license. Early in her career she worked as a counter manager at Dillard's for four to five years selling luxury cosmetics before transitioning to booth rental where she built a clientele from scratch in one year. After nearly a decade running a hair salon she rebranded around the pandemic to create a calm luxury head spa focused on scalp therapy and extensions. Jones has been featured in Voyage ATL magazine and emphasizes treating clients with care to build their confidence while balancing her roles as a business owner, wife, and mother.

Ten minutes with Madison

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Successes don't happen overnight. Sometimes it feels like you're showing up every day and nothing is happening, but when you get a setback, continue to learn from your mistakes and believe in yourself and keep believing in what you're building. Never compare yourself to anyone else. Stay consistent with you. You're only in competition with yourself. Stay away from competitive people and have a strong circle of people around you professionally that you can learn from.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is trying to balance everything with wearing so many hats as a woman, a wife, a mom. I've learned to ask for help and create systems so I can take my hands off. Staying consistent and trying not to work as hard, just balancing everything.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Treating women who come in for service like they were me, treating them how I would want to be treated. Understanding that although I am in the beauty and wellness industry, it's not always about appearance. Having women feel more confident and more seen after they leave my presence and the experience, like they're stronger and able to conquer the world. Continuing to grow professionally every day.
