About Madison
Madison McEnroe is a Product Specialist at Genesan, where she serves as a subject matter expert in medical-grade cleaning chemistry, infection control solutions, and sustainable cleaning technologies. With more than 11 years of experience in the JanSan (janitorial and sanitation) industry, she has developed extensive expertise in cleaning chemistry, surface compatibility, pH levels, and proper cleaning and disinfecting practices. Her passion is centered on improving healthcare safety by helping organizations understand the science behind effective cleaning solutions and implementing practices that protect people and environments.
Madison’s career journey began as a residential cleaner before advancing into leadership and training roles within healthcare and facility management. During her time at Maine Medical Center, she became an EVS Training Lead, where she studied infection control practices, earned AHE certifications, and trained hundreds of environmental services professionals, including frontline teams during the COVID-19 pandemic. She later expanded her operational experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor and Local Operations Manager at Vacasa, overseeing staff training, quality standards, maintenance coordination, inventory management, and compliance across multiple properties.
As a recognized leader in the cleaning industry, Madison is committed to education, innovation, and advancing safer, more sustainable cleaning practices. She holds certifications including AHE Hierarchy of Pathogens, Train the Trainer, and CIMS Expert credentials, and has been recognized as an ISSA Emerging Leader and Rising Leader of 2026. Known for her integrity, high energy, and engaging training style, she combines technical expertise with humor and passion to educate the JanSan community, healthcare professionals, and facility teams on the future of cleaning technology.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my motivation, drive, and most importantly, the support of my team. Having people who believe in me, encourage my growth, and support my goals has been a powerful source of momentum and a key reason for my success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to walk my own path. I have always believed in staying true to myself and making decisions based on my own goals and values rather than simply following the direction of others. No matter what is happening around me, I focus on creating my own journey and embracing the opportunities that align with my vision.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to never give up. It can be challenging, especially in a traditionally male-dominated field, but the journey is worth it. Stay true to yourself, stand firm in your abilities, and have confidence in your intelligence and the value you bring.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is educating individuals on proper cleaning practices. During COVID, over-disinfection became common, but excessive use of disinfectants can sometimes create more risks than benefits, including issues with surface compatibility and improper application. Helping people understand effective, safe, and balanced cleaning methods remains an important opportunity for education and improvement.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me are integrity, authenticity, and positivity. I believe in doing the right thing even when no one is watching, while also bringing energy, humor, and a sense of fun into everything I do. I’m known for my enthusiasm and ability to connect with others, and I believe that creating a positive environment makes both work and personal relationships more meaningful.
