Ten minutes with Madison
01What do you attribute your success to?
- Having grit as the default setting, being able to lean on this trait has helped me get through a lot of large scale project changes and get to the end feeling accomplished.
- Having leaders in your life that want the best for you as a person, and who have experience from the path you’re currently on.
I’d like to shout out Ashley Sheble and Amy Arias as amazing mentors. These women have been role models to me, who have always challenged me to grow and provided sound advice through the years. They are phenomenal at their jobs and inspire me to be the best version of myself.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Networking is powerful but people want to be treated like people and not like a step up. Every business mission serves people in some capacity and people don’t go out of business so when networking, keep in mind that people want to connect beyond the surface.

Utilize every growth opportunity your current company has, whether that’s getting another degree, getting another certification or leading in a volunteer role, as opportunities present themselves, always try to scale up in your experience at your company even if it’s outside of your daily role.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don’t be afraid of changes and advancements in tech, grow with it and you’ll rise above the fears you may have once had.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions when you’re learning a new process but be sure to understand the process and take good notes so you can hit the ground running.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Constant changes in the industry as technology advances; we’re always learning something new, however difficult that may be at times, there’s so much opportunity as tech changes; it’s made me learn to be more agile and adapt to changes as early as possible.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith, perseverance and balance. I also believe having fun and being creative in your free time and on the weekends is essential to being able to get through difficult times at work or in life in general.
