About Madison

Madison Tyler is a science communications and medical affairs professional dedicated to making complex biomedical research clear, accurate, and accessible. As the founder of MAT Communications, she leads an independent platform focused on molecular imaging, oncology, and translational science, where she combines scientific expertise with strategic storytelling to bridge the gap between research and real-world understanding. With a strong commitment to scientific integrity, she develops content that helps researchers, healthcare professionals, and broader audiences engage with emerging scientific advances.

Tyler's career spans research, academia, and biotechnology, providing her with a well-rounded perspective on scientific communication. She earned both a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Science in Molecular & Cellular Biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Early in her career, she served as an academic advisor and online instructor while conducting research before joining Harvard Medical School as a Research Associate, where she contributed to high-dimensional imaging research, scientific publications, technical documentation, and research management tools. She later joined Canopy Biosciences as a Content Marketing Specialist, producing more than 50 scientific marketing assets—including white papers, technical notes, and case studies—that continued to be used following the company's acquisition by Bruker.

Throughout her career, Tyler has remained passionate about advancing scientific understanding through thoughtful communication. She has authored and co-authored scientific publications, contributed to protocols that support research reproducibility, and continuously explores innovative approaches to science communication, including the responsible use of emerging technologies. Motivated by a personal commitment to improving healthcare and inspired by the impact of biomedical research, she strives to foster collaboration, strengthen public understanding of science, and ensure that scientific discoveries are communicated with clarity, accuracy, and integrity.

Ten minutes with Madison

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to feeling the fear and doing it anyway, pushing through discomfort despite anxiety. I love to challenge myself and do things that scare me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Throughout my career, I have also benefited from the guidance of exceptional mentors, particularly women who demonstrated that leadership is built through collaboration, resilience, and a willingness to invest in others. Their influence continues to shape my own approach to leadership and professional growth.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I believe in staying adaptable and committed to continuous learning. Embracing change and maintaining a growth mindset help me navigate challenges, seize new opportunities, and continue developing both personally and professionally.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is the underrepresentation of women in a male-dominated industry, where ideas and contributions can sometimes be overlooked. Another challenge is navigating the abundance of information while ensuring accuracy and ethical standards.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value humility, integrity, and excellence in everything I do. I take pride in pushing through fear and discomfort, embracing challenges as opportunities to grow. I am committed to advancing science communication with clarity, accuracy, and purpose, helping make evidence-based information more accessible and meaningful.
