Her Story
About Maggie
Maggie Escarcega is a Lead Learning Experience Designer at UKG, a SaaS company specializing in HR, payroll, and HRIS solutions. She has held this role for eight years. Her career began with ten years at a payroll company, where she held several pillar roles. A reorganization there led her to explore new opportunities, including contract work as a learning experience designer with Weight Watchers in New York for six months. During that period, she traveled bi-weekly from Texas to fulfill the role. Escarcega attributes her professional success to her faith, noting that Jesus is her core and the source of everything she has achieved. She advises young women entering her industry to do it all and not to be afraid to pursue roles for which they may not feel fully qualified, emphasizing that if an opportunity leaves one wondering what if, it should be pursued.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Maggie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would have to say Jesus. He is my core. He's given me everything and anything that I've ever wanted. I'm here and I'm successful because of him.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Do it all. And don't be afraid to do what you're not qualified for. If you can walk away without saying what if, then walk away. But if you can't, don't. I tell my girls that all the time.
