Maggie Love
Maggie Love is an entrepreneur, educator, and community builder at the forefront of emerging technologies, best known as the founder of SheFi, a global education and networking platform that empowers women to thrive in cryptocurrency, decentralized finance (DeFi), and artificial intelligence. Based in New York, Love studied communication and journalism at Northwestern University, where she developed a passion for storytelling, research, and presenting—skills that would later become central to her work as a technology educator and thought leader. Before launching SheFi, she gained experience in financial technology and innovation, including work with IBM and involvement in blockchain initiatives that helped shape her career in the rapidly evolving Web3 ecosystem.
Since founding SheFi in 2019, Love has built one of the most influential learning communities for women in crypto and AI, educating more than 30,000 participants across over 100 countries. Through cohort-based courses, mentorship programs, live events, and a growing global network of local chapters, she has helped thousands of women gain the technical knowledge, confidence, and professional connections needed to enter and advance in frontier industries. Her leadership emphasizes experiential learning, community support, and financial empowerment, creating pathways for women to participate in technologies that are reshaping the future of finance, business, and digital innovation.
Beyond education, Love is a recognized advocate for increasing diversity and inclusion in technology. Her career includes leadership roles with W3BCLOUD, advisory and mentorship work within the blockchain ecosystem, and collaborations with leading organizations across finance and technology. Inspired by mentors such as Ginni Rometty and industry leaders including Lisa Su, Love combines ambition, craftsmanship, and personal agency in her approach to leadership. She is particularly proud of the global community she has created through SheFi, which continues to connect women worldwide through education, professional development, and shared opportunities in crypto, AI, and emerging technologies.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a strong belief in my ability to learn and grow, combined with the willingness to take risks, persist through challenges, and embrace new opportunities. My curiosity drives me to explore ideas through hands-on experimentation and continuous learning, while my commitment to building and empowering communities has allowed me to create meaningful connections and help others succeed alongside me.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received came from mentors and managers who emphasized the importance of doing quality work, paying attention to details, and genuinely caring about the people and projects I support. Their guidance taught me that consistency, professionalism, and a strong work ethic are essential for long-term success. I have also been inspired by female leaders such as Ginni Rometty, whose leadership and accomplishments demonstrated the value of resilience, innovation, and leading with confidence.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to believe in yourself and your abilities. Have confidence in your skills, be willing to take on challenges, and don’t let self-doubt hold you back from pursuing opportunities. Trust that you can learn, grow, and succeed, and remember that your perspective and contributions are valuable.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunities in my field include the growing adoption of DeFi by traditional financial institutions, which is helping bridge decentralized and traditional finance, as well as the rise of AI tools that significantly enhance productivity and allow individuals to reclaim time and work more efficiently. At the same time, a key challenge—and opportunity—is the continued underrepresentation of women building and speaking in crypto, which makes creating pathways for greater participation and visibility especially important. Additionally, a competitive job market means that networking and consistently producing visible, high-quality work are becoming increasingly essential for career growth.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are ambition, craftsmanship, and agency. I believe in setting meaningful goals and striving for excellence, while also taking pride in the quality of my work and pursuing endeavors that I genuinely enjoy. Equally important is having the freedom and confidence to make my own choices, take ownership of my path, and create a life and career that align with my values and aspirations.
