About Magie
Magie Hudson serves as an HR Manager in the security industry, a role she has held since July 2026. With nearly five years of experience in human resources, she has built her career across multiple sectors, beginning as an HR representative at Bryant University while studying there. Hudson advanced to HR Generalist and senior HR generalist roles before taking an HR Manager position at Securitas. Her background also includes work in higher education at Bristol Community College, manufacturing at Millstone Medical Outsourcing and Ametek Brookfield Engineering, as well as fast food and retail management. She studied at both Bryant University and Bristol Community College. Hudson previously served as president of the Family Readiness Group supporting military personnel and commanders, for which she received a Presidential military award. She has participated in SHRM meetings and volunteered with the mobile food market at Bristol Community College. Hudson advises young women entering the field to maintain determination and drive, noting that building relationships quickly and understanding specific industries are key challenges.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience, determination, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed. I have learned to navigate challenges with purpose, adapt when circumstances change, and continue moving forward even when the path is difficult. I believe leadership is not defined by a title, but by the impact you have on the people around you. Much of my success has come from listening, advocating for others, continuing to learn, and being willing to step into difficult situations where thoughtful and compassionate leadership is needed. I also attribute my success to never allowing my circumstances to define what I am capable of achieving. Every challenge has strengthened my ability to lead with empathy, accountability, and confidence.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received was, “Don’t wait until you feel completely ready to take the next opportunity.” Growth often happens when we step outside of our comfort zones and trust the experience, knowledge, and perspective we have already built. That advice has encouraged me to take on new challenges, speak up when something needs to be addressed, and pursue opportunities that once may have felt out of reach. It has also shaped how I lead others—I want people around me to recognize their own potential and not allow fear or self-doubt to keep them from advancing.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't let anyone tell you that you're not enough. Determination and the drive to succeed will get you to that end goal.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Building relationships quickly and understanding the specific industry when entering a new one.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me are integrity, accountability, empathy, perseverance, and family. In my work, I believe in doing what is right even when it is difficult, treating people with dignity, and holding myself and others accountable while still leading with compassion. I value being someone others can trust—someone who listens, follows through, and is willing to advocate for people when they need a voice. In my personal life, family is at the center of everything I do. My experiences have taught me the importance of resilience, hard work, and continuing to grow through every season of life. Those same values shape the kind of leader, professional, and person I strive to be every day.
