Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I think the key to my success is that my family has always been super supportive of me. I found a great workplace that's really supportive, and they invest in me to develop me. And then my faith and my husband - those are absolutely central to everything I do. Having that strong foundation at home with my husband, knowing we have a strong marriage, and working for a company that believes in my growth and development has made all the difference in my career.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is clarity is kindness, and that actually came from my boss. She says that even if you have to have a hard conversation with somebody, being clear and concise with them is always the kind thing to do. This advice has really shaped how I approach difficult conversations and leadership situations - I've learned that being direct and honest, even when it's uncomfortable, is ultimately the most respectful and caring approach you can take with your team.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice that I would give would be to stay true to yourself, and not to lose your values as you're trying to grow in your business. It's so important to maintain who you are and what you believe in, even as you're climbing the ladder and facing pressures to conform or compromise. Your values are what make you unique and what will ultimately make you successful in a meaningful way.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I would say most of my values overlap between my professional and personal life. Both personally and professionally, honesty is crucial to me. Same with accountability - I believe in owning your actions and following through on commitments. Professionally, I would say having a good work ethic is a core value for me, because I know if you're honest and you're accountable, and you work hard, that will vibe really well together, and we can reach understanding and collaborate on projects. And then kindness - just overall, generally being a kind person. That's something that seems to be lost sometimes, but it's so important to me in everything I do.
