Malaika Simmons
Malaika Simmons is a speaker, facilitator, and human-centered design strategist dedicated to helping leaders and organizations realign performance with the realities of how people actually work. As the CEO of Momentology Media and COO of the National Accelerator for Discovery in Precision Health, she operates at the intersection of culture design, leadership development, and behavioral insight. With over 15 years of experience across corporate, nonprofit, academic, and public-sector environments, Malaika is known for translating complex human experiences into actionable strategies that improve engagement, trust, and sustainable performance.
At the core of her work is the belief that burnout and disengagement are not failures of individuals, but symptoms of misaligned systems. Through her proprietary Momentology™ Method, she helps leaders redesign how decisions are made, how energy is managed, and how work is experienced—shifting organizations from pressure-driven performance to intentional, aligned impact. Her approach integrates human-centered design, behavioral science, and her doctoral research in International Psychology, enabling her to guide teams through complex challenges with clarity, empathy, and structure.
Malaika’s work is grounded in a commitment to building cultures where people can thrive without sacrificing themselves. She partners with organizations to create environments rooted in psychological safety, accountability, and meaningful engagement, while also supporting high-performing leaders in navigating growth and alignment. Through keynote speaking, executive advising, and coaching, she empowers individuals and teams to move beyond exhaustion and into sustainable success—where impact, fulfillment, and performance are no longer in conflict, but fully aligned.

What do you attribute your success to?
Malaika spent years running from the very thing that was always in her blood. Born into a family of teachers, she resisted the path until she realized—through her own career journey—that she had been teaching all along, mentoring and coaching her staff at every turn. Now, as the founder of Momentology Media LLC (launched in 2017), she’s on a mission to empower 1,000 women globally, believing deeply that when we light each other up, the ripple effect reaches countless more. A speaker, workshop leader, and published author (her first book debuted in 2016), Malaika’s method is beautifully simple yet transformative: awareness, gratitude, and expectance—principles she lived long before she named them. Her proudest accomplishment is her daughter, the light of her life, who was coding at five and joiI attribute my success to finally embracing what was always a part of me. I come from a family of teachers, and for a long time, I resisted that path. But throughout my career, I realized I had been teaching all along—mentoring, coaching, and developing others in every role I held. Once I accepted that this was my calling, everything began to align. That realization ultimately led me to found Momentology Media, where I now focus on helping others grow, lead, and thrive.
My work is grounded in the principles of awareness, gratitude, and expectance—values I was living long before I had language for them. These principles guide how I approach leadership, life, and the work I do with women and organizations around the world. I am deeply driven by my mission to empower women globally, because I believe when we support and uplift one another, the impact extends far beyond what we can see.
I’ve also been fortunate to have mentors who challenged me and expanded my perspective, particularly Maureen Power, who pushed me beyond my comfort zone and helped me see what was possible. Today, I carry that forward in my own work. My greatest joy comes from witnessing those “aha” moments—when someone realizes they are capable of more than they ever believed. And above all, I’m most proud of my daughter, who inspires me daily and reminds me why this work matters.ned a household of five boys like a storm. What Malaika loves most about her work is that “aha moment”—the rush when a woman realizes she can do what she once thought impossible. Her advice to young women? Lean unapologetically into your joy, live without guilt, and release expectations. She credits her own mentor, Maureen Power (now retired), for pushing her out of her comfort zone and showing her exactly what was possible—and now Malaika pays it forward across every industry, from healthcare to IT, helping organizations build people-first policies.
