Ten minutes with Malena
01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I think that I would tell myself to not be afraid to try different opportunities and see what feels in alignment, but also don't be afraid to take a job that's a stepping stone somewhere else, because you don't land your dream role right off the bat. Take whatever opportunity's in front of you, and make the most of it. You can really shape your own career and take steps to get anywhere you want to be. Even if you're at A, it is possible to get to Z, you just have to get through all the letters in between.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
It's hard to sometimes find the opportunities or keep up hope when you feel like you're not getting where you want to be. A huge part of it is just being brave, and I really believe in fake it till you make it. You get to where you want to be by biting off more than you can chew, and then figuring out how to chew it. Really going for it, putting your heart into something. Being brave, putting in hard work and effort that can be felt, and then not being afraid to do or try something new. You can build your own business while also working corporate.
