About Malisa
My journey began watching Swan Lake on PBS as a little girl, dreaming of being the first Black swan. My mom sparked my interest with ballet positions on a Girl Scout cookie box. I started teaching in high school at the High School for Performing Arts in Philadelphia. I majored in dance education at the University of the Arts, graduating in 2003 after briefly attending Goucher College. I teach at Ruth Batson Academy, creating curriculum centered on self-love, using breathwork and affirmations. I also founded Solo Moms Flow to support mothers in returning to self-love.
