About Mallika
Mallika Chaulagain is an IT Business System Analyst with experience in optimizing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), improving business processes, and delivering technology solutions that create operational efficiency and measurable business impact within the manufacturing industry. Her work focuses on bridging the gap between business needs and technical execution—understanding stakeholder requirements, improving workflows, and implementing systems that help teams work smarter and perform more effectively. Her expertise includes business systems analysis, MES optimization, process improvement, workflow automation, reporting and analytics, and supporting digital transformation initiatives that drive long-term value. She is passionate about solving complex business challenges by designing practical solutions that improve both system performance and business outcomes.
Originally from Nepal, Mallika Chaulagain moved to the United States in 2020 with the goal of building a better future through education, career growth, and new opportunities. Starting over in a new country came with significant challenges, including language barriers, cultural differences, navigating the corporate environment, and entering a highly competitive IT job market during the COVID-19 pandemic. These experiences strengthened her resilience, adaptability, and confidence in building a career from the ground up.
In July 2021, she successfully began her professional journey in the IT field, a milestone that represented much more than just career growth—it was proof that persistence, self-belief, and consistency can turn uncertainty into opportunity.
While working full-time, she pursued and completed her Master’s degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin, graduating in Summer 2025. Having this opportunity supported through her employer made the journey even more meaningful, allowing her to grow both professionally and academically while strengthening her ability to make strategic decisions independently and contribute with greater confidence.
As a woman navigating technology, leadership, and life in a new country, She remains passionate about continuous growth, learning, and creating meaningful impact through both her work and personal journey. She hopes her story inspires others to trust their path, embrace change, and keep moving forward with courage and purpose.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience, continuous learning, and consistency. Staying focused, working hard, and trusting the process helped me grow both personally and professionally. I believe persistence and the courage to keep moving forward, even during uncertain times, have been the biggest drivers of my success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to stay adaptable and never stop learning. Technology and business are constantly evolving, and growth comes from being open to change, asking questions, and stepping outside your comfort zone. Staying positive during challenges and viewing obstacles as learning opportunities has helped me build both confidence and resilience throughout my career.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the technology industry is to trust your abilities, stay curious, and never be afraid to ask questions. Growth comes from learning, adapting, and being open to new challenges. Don’t let uncertainty make you doubt yourself, your perspective, ideas, and voice matter. Confidence is built through experience, so keep showing up, keep learning, and believe in the value you bring.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in my field is using technology to drive smarter business decisions and improve operational efficiency. As businesses continue to evolve, there is a growing need for system optimization, automation, and data-driven solutions that create real impact. The challenge is keeping up with constant change new technologies, business demands, and digital transformation require continuous learning and adaptability. Being able to bridge business needs with technical solutions is more valuable now than ever.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In my professional life, I value integrity, continuous learning, and accountability. I believe strong work ethic, consistency, and the willingness to keep improving are essential for long-term growth and success. In my personal life, I value resilience, family, and staying grounded. These values keep me focused, balanced, and motivated to continue growing both personally and professionally.
