Malory Turner
Malory Turner is a dedicated Special Education Professional Learning Coach at the Northwest Regional Education Service District in Portland, Oregon. With a strong commitment to equity and inclusive education, she supports educators across multiple counties in implementing best practices for students with diverse learning needs. In her current role, Malory serves as a Regional Technical Assistance Provider and Traumatic Brain Injury Liaison, guiding teachers through complex processes such as IEP development, assessment strategies, and specially designed instruction.
With over six years of experience in special education, Malory has held positions ranging from Special Education Teacher at Scappoose School District to Inclusion Assistant and Instructional Assistant in local school districts and community programs. Her hands-on experience in both classroom and community settings has allowed her to develop a practical, empathetic approach to coaching educators, mentoring new teachers, and facilitating professional learning opportunities. She is particularly passionate about supporting teachers in navigating the IEP process and creating accessible, inclusive learning environments.
Malory holds a Master of Arts in Teaching in Special Education from Pacific University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from Oregon State University. She has earned certifications including the Brain Injury Fundamentals credential and a PreK-12 Special Education Generalist License from the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission. Recognized for her leadership in professional development, she received the Noel Connall Instruction and Professional Development Award from the Oregon Education Association, highlighting her instrumental role in advancing instructional excellence and equity in education.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to recognize that education can be challenging, but it's worth the effort. Take the time to explore different areas, find a field you are passionate about, and focus on growing and developing your skills within it.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are transparency, integrity, punctuality, and a commitment to continuous learning.
