Her Story

About Malveria

I have dedicated 36 years to counseling and working with children and families. From a young age I knew counseling was my calling after training as a peer facilitator. I earned a psychology degree from University of Florida and an MBA from Florida Metropolitan University. My path included serving as a Child Protective Investigator for the Department of Children and Families, prevention director for multiple programs, and licensed chemical dependency counselor with juvenile probation in Texas. Today I provide prevention counseling to youth facing behavioral issues and have launched 2C Destiny Consulting Group to help fathers rebuild relationships with their children through training and mentorship.

Ten minutes with Malveria

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success is founded on my faith and upbringing. I was raised by wonderful, nurturing parents who always encouraged me that there was nothing I couldn't do. My father was a pastor, which established a strong foundation for who I am today.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Have a vision for what you really want to do and stick to it even when facing challenges. Pursue the work that comes most naturally to you and brings you the most joy, as that is your purpose and calling.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges include securing funding for services, navigating licensing requirements, and adapting to changes in leadership priorities. Opportunities exist in pursuing additional licensure and credentialing to expand into more clinical work, as well as focusing on prevention to address issues early before they escalate.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, transparency, dependability, honesty, and being a role model by being the example of what I want to see in the world around me.
