Her Interview

Ten minutes with Mandee

01What do you attribute your success to?

I hope to influence folks not only through my marketing campaigns but with who I am and what ideas I bring to the table, maybe a diverse point of view. I work at Hearst Newspapers which has been predominantly a white space but now as an Indian-American woman at those tables making decisions, I get to bring my point of view and hope to influence other women especially women of color to know that they have the opportunity to do that. You gotta just persevere and push.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The best advice is continue to empower yourself and educate yourself. Lifelong learning is important. In this day and age it's a good idea to continue educating yourself in whichever field you're in. There's plenty of free webinars, connecting with influential women, downloading ebooks, attending conferences like Canva to stay on top of trends and make sure you are moving with the times and never stop having a knack for learning.
