Mandy Davidson is a dedicated Health and Well-being Professional with nearly a decade of experience in clinical health coaching. She currently serves as a Clinical Health Coach at Tria Health, where she guides patients through weight loss programs and GLP-1 medication plans, providing telephonic and digital support to foster meaningful behavioral change. Mandy’s work emphasizes the interpersonal connection that helps patients achieve their health goals, combining empathy, compassion, and evidence-based strategies to deliver patient-centered care.

Mandy’s passion for health was deeply personal, inspired by the loss of her sister to type 1 diabetes. This experience motivated her to pursue a career in health and wellness, aiming to prevent others from enduring similar hardships. Her professional journey includes notable roles such as a contractor with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) during the COVID-19 pandemic, where she supported frontline professionals with critical information, as well as positions with Quest Diagnostics and the YMCA. She attributes her success to a hard-working family, strong mentors, and a commitment to networking and professional growth.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from Missouri Western State University, having begun her studies in pre-med at Drury University. Mandy is completing her certification as a Health and Wellness Coach through Wellcoaches and plans to pursue a master’s degree in counseling. In addition to her clinical expertise, she is skilled in program management, health education, employee wellness, exercise prescription, and community health initiatives, reflecting a holistic approach to patient care and well-being.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a foundation of hard-working individuals who I looked to. My mom is blue-collar, my dad is blue-collar, and they had to work hard for everything they got. I'm the first one to go to college in my family, and the first one who wants to get a master's degree, too. Seeing their work ethic and dedication really shaped who I am today and gave me the drive to pursue higher education and help others through my work.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received is that development is the key to growth. This has really guided my approach to continuously learning and improving in my field, whether it's pursuing new certifications or expanding my knowledge about emerging treatments like GLP-1s.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would advise young women entering the industry to prioritize networking. The connections you build can open doors, create opportunities, and significantly influence the trajectory of your career. Cultivating meaningful professional relationships is one of the most powerful tools for growth and success.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is with the GLP-1s and the access through insurance. Insurance is very specific on what they will give patients as far as prior authorizations and all of that, so it's very hard for some patients who need it to get it. It's very disheartening sometimes to be on the opposite end and not be able to control that for them. As for opportunities, I would say just the growth of the GLP-1s. They're always coming out with something new, so there's always opportunities to learn and there's always the opportunity to grow in my knowledge. The field is constantly evolving with new treatments that could help with weight loss, and even potentially with addiction, alcoholism, and drug addiction.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are empathy, compassion, growth, and health. I also deeply value family and being of service to others. These values guide everything I do, from caring for my mother to helping my patients reach their health goals through compassionate coaching.
