Her Story
About Mandy
Mandy Sadie serves as a team lead in manufacturing, where she has worked for four years. In her role, she runs a diaper production line and supervises a team that includes material operators upstairs, an assistant operator downstairs, and packaging staff. Her duties encompass maintaining quality standards, stopping the line for issues, escalating maintenance needs, and communicating progress to management. Sadie began her career at the company as a packaging associate and advanced through roles as an end-of-line lead, assistant operator, and ultimately team lead about a year ago. She holds a high school diploma and completed some college coursework toward a biomedical major without finishing the degree. Prior to manufacturing, she gained professional experience managing her father's road and bridge construction office, handling tasks such as tax preparation, contract bidding, and bid lettings. Sadie aims to advance into management and values leading diverse teams in her male-dominated field.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Hold your head up. Walk in with your eyes open, be direct, and read the room. Always maintain professionalism because men joke in different ways, and as a woman in a male-dominated profession it's better not to get sucked into that. It's not about not being friendly, but just always maintaining professionalism so you're never undermining your own professionalism or the way people see you.
