Her Story

About Mandy

Mandy Lindsey is a Senior Interior Designer at Premier Project Management with more than 12 years of experience creating exceptional hospitality and commercial environments. Based in Frisco, Texas, she specializes in designing hotels and other commercial spaces that are both visually compelling and deeply human-centered. Her work is guided by the belief that thoughtful design has the power to shape how people feel, transforming ordinary spaces into meaningful experiences that balance beauty, functionality, and authenticity.

A graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Family and Consumer Sciences in Interior Design, Mandy began her college journey on a pre-med track before discovering her true passion for interior design. Inspired by her mother to pursue a more creative path, she embraced the profession and quickly found her niche in hospitality design. Throughout her career with leading firms including Wilson Associates, Merriman Anderson Architects, B2 Architecture + Design, and Premier Project Management, she has contributed to award-winning projects while developing expertise in project management, client collaboration, and creative leadership. She credits longtime mentor Gail Nall with helping shape her leadership style, emphasizing the importance of listening, authenticity, and empowering others.

Mandy is passionate about mentoring the next generation of designers and fostering collaborative, supportive workplaces. Leading a predominantly female design team, she encourages young professionals to stay curious, observe, ask questions, and seek mentors who inspire growth. Her greatest professional strengths stem from compassion, authenticity, and her ability to truly listen—to clients, colleagues, and the unique story each space is meant to tell. Through every project, Mandy strives to create environments with warmth, purpose, and soul, proving that great design begins with understanding people.

Ten minutes with Mandy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to embracing unexpected opportunities with confidence, curiosity, and a willingness to grow. Although I originally planned to pursue a career in medicine, my mother encouraged me to explore interior design, and I quickly realized it was the perfect blend of creativity, problem-solving, and serving others. Over the past 12 years, I have built a career specializing in hospitality and commercial interiors, and today I have the privilege of serving as a Senior Interior Designer leading a talented team of women. Throughout my journey, I have learned that empathy, active listening, authenticity, and collaboration are the foundation of exceptional design. I believe the best spaces begin with understanding the people who will use them, and I strive to create environments that are both beautiful and functional while fostering a workplace built on trust, creativity, and mutual respect.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the most valuable pieces of career advice I have received was to be unapologetically authentic in my work. I learned that not every design decision will resonate with everyone, but confidence comes from standing behind thoughtful choices while remaining open to constructive feedback. That advice gave me the courage to trust my instincts, stay true to my creative vision, and lead with both confidence and humility.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women entering the design profession to spend more time listening than speaking, especially early in their careers. There is tremendous value in observing experienced professionals, asking thoughtful questions, and finding mentors whose leadership inspires you. I also believe it is important to remain a lifelong learner because curiosity, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous growth are what keep creativity thriving and help build a successful, lasting career.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the greatest opportunities in the interior design industry is the growing appreciation for collaborative, relationship-centered leadership. Having worked in both male-led and women-led firms, I have experienced firsthand the positive impact of inclusive environments where diverse perspectives are valued and women are empowered to lead. I believe the future of our industry will continue to be shaped by leaders who embrace empathy, authenticity, and collaboration while mentoring the next generation and demonstrating that strong leadership can be both compassionate and decisive.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Family is at the center of everything I do, and I strive to balance a fulfilling career with being fully present for my husband, my two young sons, and the people I love most. I value compassion, authenticity, kindness, and genuine human connection, and I believe these qualities strengthen both personal relationships and professional leadership. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends, and those experiences inspire my passion for hospitality design by reminding me how meaningful spaces bring people together. I am also passionate about women supporting women and believe that collaboration, encouragement, and shared success create stronger teams, stronger leaders, and a stronger industry.
