Her Story

About Manjari

I come from a traditional chemical engineering background with Amazon supply chain experience, but I've always wanted to keep evolving and apply new research to my work. At my previous company, I helped transform supply chain planning by integrating AI into multiple aspects of operations. I created an automated system that dispatches loads directly to drivers through an app without any planner involvement, keeping everything automated and updated for both customers and drivers. One project I'm really proud of is the chatbot I developed for drivers using the Anthropic console - it was a 2 to 4 month project where I used prompt engineering techniques from Google, OpenAI, and Claude. We reduced our common support chats by about 80%, which really helped our customer support representatives. I also created an AI-agentic workflow for calculating and fulfilling driver demand, collaborating closely with ML engineers and senior product team members. We created tools and steps that allow planners to efficiently meet their driver needs across multiple regions. I believe not just one company needs to move into AI - all companies should change their supply chain structure to incorporate AI and be connected with other work systems. I feel like we could have a very resilient and sustainable supply chain using AI. I recently quit my job because I'm trying to start something of my own. I'm currently working on FashionFix, which was originally a college project at Northeastern University about project management. It's an AI-powered sustainable shopping platform where you rent clothing - customers answer a questionnaire to determine their style, and fashion experts curate selections based on those themes. I'm working on building the AI platform to see how I can build the logic and make it real. I want to create a safe and good AI system.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I definitely attribute my success to my support system, which is my parents and my friends. Everybody is capable of achieving great heights - I really do believe that - but people sometimes forget to believe in themselves, and that is where the support system comes in. Once you have a good support system, honestly, you can do whatever it is that you want. If you're scared of resigning tomorrow, you can resign. If you've been meaning to take that one trip, you should be taking that. It doesn't have to be physical support, it just has to be there. I definitely attribute my success to my parents, who have supported me, not by controlling me or telling me 'this is where you need to go, this is the career that you can be successful in.' No, whatever it is - mistakes, bad times, the great times - every time, everything I attributed to my parents, because there is some learning in the bad times, and there is a lot of celebration in the good times. They give me the strength to keep going. That belief system needs to be there, so I definitely attribute my success to my parents and my friends.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

You have to turn your fear into motivation. That is what I've learned, especially as a visa student - you're scared of being in a different country, you're scared, you don't understand the rules, you feel like everything is overwhelming. But in that overwhelming storm, right in the midst of it, there is just one rock, and that rock is you. Whatever fear you have, that's how I have sustained myself here, and that is what I would definitely suggest to every woman out there. Do not be fearful, just turn your fear into the motivation, and everything will work out. So that's the best advice I could give.
