Her Story
About Manorma
With over a decade in IT and business, my journey has been driven by innovation and passion. I spent over four years at Amazon, followed by leadership roles at Schlumberger, Merck Pharmaceuticals, and Hindustan Electro Graphits (HEG). As a Technical Program Manager and Lead, I drove automation and initiatives that boosted revenue and business impact.
Throughout all stages of life, my mother was my anchor—encouraging my growth, fostering my confidence, and providing every platform for personal development. She introduced me to classical dance, which I performed across Madhya Pradesh and beyond, and supported my studies and career as I worked in Bangalore and Pune. I was honored to be featured as the face of my college, a top performer across school and university, with my achievements recognized throughout the state. My passion for dance and music never faded; in 2022, I won first prize for a semi-classical dance in Seattle.
Recently, I channeled my creativity into authorship, publishing my first children’s book, A Little Baby & the Sky, on Amazon, with ten more books coming soon. I also contribute to Hind Convent, a 35-year-old educational institution extending their branches in India, & where my books inspire children to connect without screens. I’m deeply committed to empowering women, turning dreams into reality, and encouraging others to pursue their passions with zeal and purpose.

Ten minutes with Manorma
01What do you attribute your success to?
A huge part of my success comes from my parents and their incredible example. My mom was a dedicated professional who balanced home, business, and work while raising five kids. My dad, an entrepreneur from childhood, taught me to value education, business acumen, and lifelong learning—he always said, "Beauty might fade, but brains will always win." My siblings were my constant support, and my husband, my biggest critic, keeps me grounded and pushing forward. My daughter 'Myra' has reshaped my routine, inspiring balance and daily growth. I’m committed to giving my best back—through my journey, I aim to empower others, especially women, by sharing what I’ve learned and helping them rise and succeed.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received came from my father. He used to say, "Beauty might fade, but brains will always win." For him, education was the bedrock of every opportunity, and that belief stayed with me. It taught me that no matter which path I chose, continuous learning, curiosity, and courage in the face of challenges would set me apart. And I pass that wisdom on—keep learning, stay aligned with your purpose, and never doubt your potential. He often said, always surround yourself with people who uplift you, who champion your growth, and who truly want to see you succeed—because with that kind of support, your potential is truly limitless.
That said, the greatest lesson I’ve gained is from immersing myself in diverse industries—working with brilliant, open-minded people at HEG, Merck, Schlumberger, and Amazon. Each step gave me the chance to learn from visionary leaders and diverse perspectives. I am truly grateful for every opportunity to grow alongside these exceptional individuals.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women entering the industry to believe in themselves and never underestimate their potential. I’ve always valued a go-getter attitude and individual brilliance, but I know teamwork is what truly drives success. Whether you’re exploring a leadership role in IT, starting your own venture, or helping grow someone else’s business, every step is a chance to learn. Take every opportunity to expand your skills, especially now with AI reshaping industries—stay curious and open. And most importantly, share what you learn. Let your growth be a beacon for other women and the people around you—because when we lift each other up, we all succeed.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in the industry right now is the rapid evolution of AI, automation, and digital transformation. I see this as a transformational phase where businesses, education systems, and enterprises can scale faster, make smarter decisions, and create more personalized experiences through technology. Whether it’s process automation, AI-driven workflows, smart classrooms, or data-led decision-making, the potential to drive meaningful impact is enormous.
At the same time, one of the biggest challenges is balancing technology with human connection and adaptability. Many organizations are adopting tools faster than they are preparing people for change. The real success lies not just in implementing technology, but in creating systems where people, processes, and innovation work together seamlessly.
Coming from organizations like Amazon and now working as a Strategic Advisor focused on integration, automation, and growth initiatives, I’ve learned that the companies that will thrive are the ones willing to continuously learn, adapt quickly, and empower their people alongside technology. AI is not here to replace human potential—it’s here to amplify it.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important values are integrity, curiosity, and empathy. I believe in balancing individual brilliance with teamwork—being a hard worker is vital, but when we collaborate, we go further. I also believe in SMART goals—focused, achievable steps that keep us aligned. With AI now in the picture, everything is becoming automated, and I see AI not as a threat but as an opportunity—wherever we can apply it, we unlock greater efficiency and innovation. I stay positive, trusting that failure is just a step toward growth, and I believe God has bigger plans than we imagine. By staying curious, applying AI thoughtfully, and sharing what I know, I hope to inspire others to pursue their passions with zeal and purpose.
