About Marcella
Marcella Logan is a licensed clinical social worker and founder of Thrive Mental Wellness, offering professional trainings, clinical workshops and consultation to families, schools and organizations and specializing in therapy for children, teens and young adults (ages 4-22). An experienced, highly skilled and intuitive clinician, she provides both in-person services in Old Town Tacoma and virtual care throughout Washington State. With over twenty five years of experience making a difference in the lives of children, teens young adults and families, Marcella is known for her ability to balance clinical depth with approachability. Her background in social work informs her systemic lens, recognizing that children and young adults thrive best when their environments are aligned with their needs. As such, Marcella has worked closely with schools in rural, suburban and urban communities in establishing high-quality, embedded mental health and co-occurring services as well as supporting administrative teams to implement an effective Threat Assessment protocol with evidence-based strategies and procedures, thereby improving school safety.
Marcella founded Thrive Mental Wellness with a simple mission: to help young people develop the emotional tools, resilience and self-understanding they need to thrive - not just to get by.
Marcella grew up in the Pacific Northwest, receiving a B.S.in Psychology with honors from the University of Oregon. Working for twelve years in community mental health, non-profits and schools throughout Oregon and California, she gained valuable experience and skills in working with children and families before returning to get her Masters in Social Work in 2007. Throughout her career, Marcella has maintained a focus on the wellbeing and empowerment of youth at the individual, school, family and community levels. Having had an impactful and important experience living in Costa Rica with her exchange family in high school leading to greater cultural awareness and new language abilities, Marcella has since prioritized professional and volunteer time to supporting immigrant youth and families. Her passion and dedication are evident in her engaging and interactive trainings, touching on such important topics as youth mental health, professional self-care and burnout prevention as well as clinical skills for engaging youth and families.
