About Marci
I have been a sign language interpreter since 2010 working with the Deaf community in schools and special ed. I became a marriage and family therapist after going back to school, graduating with my master's in 2019, and opened my own practice Mending with Hope in 2025. I work with both hearing and deaf communities focusing on estrangement and reunification. I also run Study Buddy Coach teaching people to pass the licensing exam and am a founding member of Ethical Standards for Mental Health.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to finding things I'm passionate about and making them my cause, being curious, always looking to learn grow and develop, and not limiting myself to a specific niche.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Take anything and everyone, don't be shy of getting life experience, be curious, don't automatically shut down different thoughts or ideas, and always look for opportunities to learn grow change and develop.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't limit yourself to any specific niche, find your passion, be very curious, and find something that you're really passionate about so it doesn't feel like work and you don't get burnt out.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is people not following ethical standards after passing the licensing exam and winging it or giving opinions on social media. The biggest opportunity is changing lives through reunification and teaching people communication skills to improve all their relationships.
