Her Story

About Marcia

Marcia Bryant is a Case Manager for Medicaid with the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services, a role she has held since August 2023. In this position, she assists Georgia families, with a particular focus on the disabled and elderly, by helping them navigate the complex processes required to obtain medical assistance and resolve coverage issues. Bryant earned an associate's degree in business management from Colorado Technical University in 2016 and a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in human resources from Strayer University in 2025. She brings a servant's heart to her work, shaped by her own family's experiences with medical and Social Security challenges, and she attributes her professional drive to her humble background as the only girl among four brothers and the first graduate in her family from Pinehurst, Georgia. Bryant values accountability and dependability in her professional and personal life, noting that accountability builds trust and allows clients to open up about their needs. She received career advice to not take anything personally when dealing with frustrated clients, recognizing that their situations, not her, are the source of tension. Looking ahead, Bryant plans to launch a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the elderly and individuals with disabilities by the end of the year.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Marcia

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my humble background. I was the only girl with four brothers and the only graduate in my family. My dad was a sharecropper, and we lived a simple country life in Pinehurst, Georgia. I always knew there had to be something better and wanted to help people.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've received is don't take anything personal. Dealing with clients can get frustrating, but you have to understand it's not because of you, it's the situation they're in.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Accountability is most important to me because it opens the door for trust. With trust, people open up and share what you need to get the job done. Dependability is another key value.
