Her Interview
Ten minutes with Marcia
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my passion for helping people understand business and the industries that shape our communities. Whether I am interviewing a CEO, profiling an entrepreneur, or developing content for an organization, I enjoy translating complex ideas into meaningful stories that resonate with people. Throughout my career, I have focused on highlighting the human side of business and helping audiences connect with information in a way that inspires understanding and action.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is that the only thing I can truly control is myself and how I choose to respond to life's challenges. That perspective has helped me remain resilient, adaptable, and focused throughout my career, especially during periods of transition and reinvention.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women to seek guidance and never hesitate to ask for help. Recognize the value of the experience and skills you have already developed, even when entering unfamiliar territory. Be willing to reinvent yourself as industries evolve, embrace new opportunities with confidence, and continue building on your strengths throughout your career.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest opportunities in my field is helping organizations communicate their impact through strategic storytelling and authentic content. As I continue building and expanding my consulting practice, the challenge is developing new business relationships and partnering with organizations that recognize the value of compelling storytelling, thought leadership, and meaningful audience engagement.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The value that guides both my professional and personal life is treating people the way I want to be treated. I believe in approaching every interaction with fairness, respect, empathy, and integrity. These principles have shaped my relationships, my reporting, and the way I tell stories that honor the people and organizations I work with.
