Her Story

About Marcia

Marcia Reynolds, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker and program manager with extensive experience serving vulnerable populations across generations. For 20 years, she managed a sexual abuse treatment program in Portland, Oregon under a Department of Human Services contract, where she hired and supervised 10 therapists and educated non-offending parents about offenders, narcissism, and PTSD to support family reunification in low-income communities. She subsequently worked in the hospice field for six and a half years in Klamath Falls, Oregon, advocating for elderly patients and reporting concerns related to their care. Reynolds earned her bachelor's degree after attending Portland State University and is a member of NASW. She attributes her success to her mother, a feminist who emphasized the importance of college education and self-belief, and she advises young women entering the field to keep fighting for themselves and believe in themselves.

Ten minutes with Marcia

01What do you attribute your success to?

My mother. She put everything into me. Everything I am is because of my mother. She was a feminist and taught me to go to college and believe in myself. At my graduation she fought to hood me herself.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Keep fighting for yourself. Believe in yourself. God is leading you to where He wants you to be.
