Ten minutes with Marcie
01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Follow your heart to what you love doing the most. Be brutally honest with yourself with what you love to do and then go for it. Don't worry about the money. If you're good at it that will follow.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't look at yourself as a woman per se unless it's to your advantage. Your brain is as good as anyone else's. Do your homework come prepared. He who arrives with the solution generally gets their way. Don't apologize for being female do not think of yourself as anything less than an equal.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Politically based challenges including lack of belief in a post-racial world and people not seeking honest information. We are more connected than ever and people know less than ever.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is the first one. Persistence absolutely gotta have it. Curiosity is what gets you there. Not respecting boxes that people try to put you in.
