About Margaret

Margaret Stalvey serves as Director of People and Culture at All Elite Wrestling (AEW), a position she has held for nearly three years since January 2024. She joined the company in 2019 as a paralegal, supporting international talent onboarding and contracts, before transitioning to human resources where she has spent the last five years building the people and culture function alongside her supervisor. Prior to AEW, Stalvey taught high school Spanish for five years, including two years internationally in Peru and Spain as an English teacher, followed by roles in Atlanta and Jacksonville, and worked at an immigration law firm handling interpreting, translating, and visa cases. In her current role at the growing sports entertainment company, which expanded from 30 to 140 employees, she manages the full employee lifecycle for business staff and wrestlers, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, training, and personnel matters in a flexible, travel-heavy environment. Stalvey draws on her Spanish language skills, honed through college, high school, and living abroad, to support the company's international operations.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I feel so thankful that I found a role where I can be in people and culture and support people and do what I love, but also be a mom. So I would say don't think that you have to choose one or the other. It might take some time to find the right fit, but that's the best thing about this company - it's a family-owned business, so family comes first. My advice would be look for smaller companies. Don't be afraid to start with a startup if it's a family company. Don't be afraid to look for something outside of the box. I never in a million years thought I would be working for a wrestling company, but now this is where I am, and I hope it's what I do for my whole career.
