Margarite S. Crockett
Margarite (Rita) S. Crockett is an AI leadership advisor, strategist, and founder of The AI Automated Woman, LLC, where she focuses on helping organizations and women-led businesses leverage artificial intelligence for sustainable growth and operational transformation. She studied international business and began her career in marketing, working closely with executives at a marketing agency where she developed a strong comfort and passion for strategic business communication, brand development, and cross-functional collaboration. After building her early career foundation, she took a professional break to raise her children, a path shared by many professional women, and later re-entered the workforce with a renewed focus on technology, leadership, and innovation.
As she re-emerged into the professional technology landscape, Rita pursued advanced training with the Harvard Data Science Initiative, a division of Harvard University, where she worked with professors and industry experts to deepen her expertise in agentic AI, workflow automation, and responsible AI governance. She also received coaching and strategic development exposure through MIT-based AI leadership and strategy programs and other industry-leading technology professionals. With over a year of experience in the artificial intelligence field, she now serves as an agentic AI consultant, helping professional women and organizations transition their businesses into AI-enabled operating models. Her consulting work focuses on designing AI workflows, improving productivity systems, and building human-centered automation solutions that are practical and scalable.
Rita is particularly passionate about advancing business growth opportunities for women-led enterprises, especially solopreneurs and small to mid-sized businesses such as clinics, dental practices, and professional service firms. Through her work with The AI Automated Woman, she develops strategies that connect international business principles with modern AI-driven operating models to help women-owned organizations scale efficiently and competitively. She believes artificial intelligence has the power to help women-led businesses expand their reach, increase efficiency, and achieve transformative growth while maintaining strong human-centered leadership and ethical technology practices.

What do you attribute your success to?
My success is inspired by my parents, who were always supportive of my growth. They're my inspiration, and so are my children.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Don't give up. That is one of my biggest pieces of advice. I still remember one of the strongest mentors I had. She was very successful and worked in New York, and I remember her just saying, don't give up. That was her saying, just don't give up.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't get sidetracked by other things. If you have goals and a strategic plan, stick with it. Don't let people sidetrack you. Don't let the chaos and the drama sidetrack you from your goals and strategic plan. If I were to tell my younger self that, that would be the one thing.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think breaking through the fear that people have with artificial intelligence is the biggest challenge. I have bumped into so many people that are worried it's going to take over their jobs. But the technology doesn't work without humans, and that is what we're finding across the board. New case studies are being produced about CEOs that are just getting rid of people, thinking that they can implement these artificial intelligence tools and fire people. And that's not how it works. It really isn't. Now we're starting to see the case studies come out where CEOs are regretting that decision, and they're recognizing that they themselves don't know the tools. These tools are being implemented incorrectly, and people are seeing the mistakes. My anticipation from the people that I'm working with and being mentored by is that we'll see things change here within a year, where it's going to click and we'll start seeing less errors. But for now, everyone's kind of trying to figure it out.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Ethics is a big one for sure. Just a strong positive mindset is important to me. Keeping women in the loop as this new technology comes into our lives and applying it in business is also a core value.
