Margo Gonzalez is an Enterprise Transformation Leader with more than two decades of experience driving operational excellence within the healthcare industry. As a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, she has built a career leading large-scale improvement initiatives, optimizing multi-site operations, and transforming complex healthcare processes through data-driven strategies. She currently serves as Director of Process Improvement & Operational Excellence at Molina Healthcare, where she oversees enterprise initiatives across more than 20 health plans, focusing on cost reduction, performance improvement, compliance, and enhanced member and provider experiences.
Throughout her career, Gonzalez has demonstrated a strong ability to translate healthcare data and operational insights into measurable business outcomes. Her accomplishments include delivering millions of dollars in annual efficiencies, reducing avoidable rework, improving compliance rates, and implementing Lean Six Sigma methodologies to streamline workflows and strengthen organizational performance. She has held leadership roles in medical management, Medicaid operations, and business process improvement, where she has guided cross-functional teams, developed high-performing talent, and aligned operational strategies with executive goals.
Gonzalez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Concordia University Texas and maintains expertise in enterprise transformation, process optimization, healthcare operations, analytics, and executive governance. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my commitment to continuous learning. I never assume I know everything, and I’m always seeking opportunities to grow. I enjoy reading self-improvement books and learning more about people, their behaviors, and what motivates them.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to be open to accepting help from others and always give credit where it is due. Recognizing people’s contributions and making them feel seen, heard, and valued builds trust and stronger relationships.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to stay humble, remain open to learning, and value different perspectives. Success comes from being willing to grow while making sure others feel seen and heard.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in my field are rising healthcare costs and the need to remain efficient, effective, and compliant. At the same time, opportunities exist through financial support programs, including Medicaid subsidies and federal funding, which help address ongoing industry needs.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are empathy, active listening, and making meaningful connections with others. I believe in making people feel seen, heard, and valued, both in my professional work and in my personal life.
