I attribute my success to my commitment to continuous learning, compassion for others, and dedication to evidence-based practice. Building authentic relationships and meeting clients where they are has allowed me to make meaningful progress with those I serve.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to lead with empathy and never stop learning. This guidance has shaped every aspect of my work as a counselor, reminding me that true connection begins with understanding and compassion. It keeps me grounded in my purpose—helping others grow—while inspiring me to continue expanding my knowledge, refining my skills, and embracing new perspectives. By remaining curious, humble, and open, I’m able to better support each client’s unique journey toward healing and self-discovery.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women pursuing a career in counseling is to seek balance between compassion and boundaries. This profession requires emotional strength, patience, and self-awareness. Invest in your personal well-being, connect with supportive mentors, and remember that the most effective counselors are those who continue to grow both personally and professionally.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges right now is the rise in anxiety, depression, and behavioral concerns among children and adolescents. At the same time, this brings an incredible opportunity to strengthen early intervention, family involvement, and school-based supports. By fostering collaboration between counselors, educators, and families, we can build healthier foundations for lifelong emotional wellness.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Compassion, empathy, and respect are at the core of everything I do. Whether working with clients, colleagues, or loved ones, I strive to approach each interaction with openness and understanding. I also value continuous growth—both personally and professionally—because I believe that learning and self-awareness are key to helping others heal and thrive.
