Her Interview
Ten minutes with Maria
01What do you attribute your success to?
I have lots of great mentors, all throughout the years, from teachers to bosses to coworkers, even from mentees. I would say just the people around me is who I attribute it to, and family who supports you.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
If you are the most intelligent person in the room, then you're in the wrong room. You have to always be with people who you can learn from, in more ways than one.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Just do what you love, because if you're doing something that you love, then it won't feel like work.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
AI is changing every day, and there's lots to learn. You don't need to be super technical to delve into AI. AI kind of levels the playing field. The best prompt engineers are marketers. You just need to have the talent to write a really good creative brief. The best thing is just diving in.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being patient and kind. There's lots going on with technology, and everyone is always in a rush, but it's always good to be patient and really lean in to listen on what people are trying to say. Authenticity, and being kind to others. Read the room really well. Especially when you're in a corporate setting.
