Her Story

About Maria

Maria Victoria Bueno is a Global Marketing and Sales Executive with a distinguished international career spanning leading organizations across consumer goods, technology, and industrial materials. She is currently serving as Marketing Director at NewTechWood America, where she leads marketing strategy, brand positioning, and sales support initiatives that drive awareness and growth across North America. Her work focuses on translating innovative product solutions into clear value propositions that address customer needs in modern construction and design.

Her professional journey began in sales with Johnson & Johnson, where she built a strong foundation in customer engagement and commercial execution. She then advanced her expertise in consumer insights and brand strategy at Procter & Gamble, learning how to deeply understand consumer behavior and translate insights into impactful marketing. Her next chapter at Philip Morris International expanded her global perspective, where she led marketing and trade initiatives across highly regulated markets and lived in more than seven countries—an experience that significantly shaped her adaptability, cultural fluency, and leadership approach.

She later transitioned into technology and industrial sectors with HP Inc., where she led marketing for both consumer and commercial PC and printing divisions, marking her entry into B2B marketing and highly technical product categories. Most recently, she served as Director of Marketing for KENT Corporation, overseeing international marketing across multiple global brands. Throughout her career, she has consistently been part of senior leadership teams, collaborating with executive decision-makers and contributing to strategic business direction. After a brief period focused on family and travel, she returned to the industry with NewTechWood, drawn to its innovative, sustainable products that enhance modern living while delivering long-lasting, low-maintenance solutions for homeowners and builders.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Maria

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say I never felt at any point that I couldn't do it. I mean, I never felt that everybody's more qualified than me, or I never had this imposter syndrome. I can. Yes, I can. Even if I didn't know how, I always thought, I can learn. I could easily learn. So, I think that's what has helped me, you know, that resilience and that confidence. Also, in my personal life, not just in my professional life, but it helps when you believe in yourself, and you say, if I work hard at this, I will learn, and I can do it. That 'yes I can' mentality, that belief that I can learn and adapt to anything, has been the foundation of my success across different environments, different markets, and different industries.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't be afraid to risk it. Even if you're the only woman in the position, or in the room, or whatever type of restriction you may have in your mind, just risk it, do it. The effort will pay off. There shouldn't be any things restraining you, not even mentally, you know? Sometimes people say, no, I don't know, they will never promote a woman, they will never think of me for that expat job, they will never... no. If you put yourself in front, and if you do your work, somebody will look at you and say, yeah, that's the person we need in this place. Don't hesitate. If you know you can, go for it. Don't be afraid would be the advice.
