About Maria

I've been working in my field since 2008, and I've been with the City of Orlando for about 16 and a half years now. I started at the red light program, which is the enforcement red light department, and then I got promoted to the Transportation Planning Department at City Hall. After that, I moved to the Orlando Police Department about a year ago, and this is really what I wanted to be involved with. In my current role, I work with federal grants for Orlando Police Department. I manage all the grants for the department and handle all the reimbursements for OPD. What I love most about this position is that I get to work with different task forces like the FBI, MBI, and DEA. This is exactly where I always wanted to be, and I'm loving my new role with all the law enforcement agencies. My background in accounting and my experience in transportation planning have really prepared me well for managing these federal grants and working with these important partnerships.
