Maria Girguis MRPharmS MBA Candidate
Maria Girguis, also known professionally as Maria of Egypt, is a pharmacist-turned-wellness entrepreneur with a passion for integrating science, leadership, and ancient healing practices. Born and raised in Egypt, she earned her Bachelor in Pharmacy and Biotechnology from the German University in Cairo in 2009 and later re-qualified as a pharmacist in the UK. Over a career spanning more than 17 years, Maria practiced pharmacy across multiple countries, gaining experience in clinical care, mental health, and pharmaceutical leadership, which laid the foundation for her innovative approach to health and wellness. In 2025, Maria founded VYV House of Life, a modern revival of ancient Egyptian healing temples Per-Ankh, combining clinical precision with holistic practices such as breathwork, sound healing, and blue lotus tea ceremonies. Her programs are designed to harmonize the mind, body, and spirit, with targeted IV therapies that address specific glands or energy centers, often referred to as chakras. Maria focuses primarily on supporting women’s hormonal health and executives experiencing burnout, delivering immersive retreats and corporate wellness events in the UK and the United States, while integrating her expertise in bioenergetics, transformational coaching, and executive clarity. In addition to her clinical and entrepreneurial achievements, Maria is expanding her business acumen as an MBA candidate in International Business at MIU City University Miami and has participated in entrepreneurship programs at Cambridge Judge Business School. Her professional philosophy emphasizes aligning ancient wisdom with modern science to create measurable, transformative experiences. Through her global platform, Maria mentors individuals and leaders seeking clarity, resilience, and conscious growth, positioning herself as a thought leader in wellness, leadership development, and holistic performance optimization.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of clarity of vision, resilience through hardship, and a deep commitment to alignment. My journey hasn’t been linear; it’s been shaped by challenges that required me to continuously evolve, refine who I am, and step into higher versions of my identity.
That evolution has come through vulnerability and courage; being willing to see myself honestly, make difficult decisions, and move forward with integrity even when the path wasn’t clear. I’ve learned to trust both my intuition and my discipline, balancing inner knowing with structured execution and high standards.
I don’t separate who I am from what I build. My work is an extension of my values, and as I grow, so does the vision. That constant alignment, between identity, action, and purpose, is what has allowed me to create something meaningful, differentiated, and impactful.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to never abandon myself in the pursuit of success. Early on, it’s easy to believe you need to fit into existing models or follow what’s already proven. But I’ve learned that the real opportunity lies in building from who you are, your perspective, your standards, your way of seeing the world.
That advice shaped how I lead and how I build. It taught me to take full responsibility for my outcomes, trust my intuition, and stay aligned even when it would be easier to compromise. In the long run, the most sustainable success comes from coherence, when your work is a true reflection of who you are.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice I would give is to build from a place of self-trust, not comparison. It’s easy to look around the industry and feel like you need to follow a certain model to succeed, but real impact comes from developing your own voice, your own standards, and your own way of working.
Commit to mastery, not just of your craft, but of yourself. Your presence, your integrity, and your ability to hold responsibility will take you further than any trend or shortcut. And don’t rush the process. Depth, credibility, and authority are built over time through consistent action and lived experience.
Most importantly, don’t disconnect from yourself to fit in. The industry doesn’t need more replicas, it needs women who are grounded, clear, and fully embodied in what they do. That’s where real influence comes from.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunity in my field right now is the shift toward more integrated, personalized, and meaningful approaches to wellness. People are no longer looking for quick fixes, they’re seeking experiences and solutions that combine science, emotional well-being, and lifestyle in a way that is tailored to them. We’re seeing a move toward longevity, preventative care, and deeply immersive wellness experiences rather than surface-level treatments.
At the same time, there is a growing openness to combining clinical medicine with holistic practices, which creates space for new models that bridge both worlds in a more intelligent and responsible way.
The challenge, however, is that the industry is becoming increasingly saturated and, in many cases, diluted. There is a lot of noise, misinformation, and trend-driven positioning that isn’t always backed by real expertise or integrity. As wellness becomes more mainstream and commercialized, maintaining trust, clinical credibility, and genuine impact becomes more important, and more difficult.
There is also a tension between high-tech, data-driven optimization and the human need for simplicity, connection, and real presence. The opportunity lies in knowing how to integrate both; using science and technology without losing the depth, experience, and humanity that wellness is ultimately about.
For me, the future of the industry belongs to those who can hold that balance, combining precision, integrity, and a deeply considered experience that truly serves people beyond trends.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide both my work and personal life are alignment, integrity, sovereignty, accountability, authenticity, and a deep devotion to growth.
Alignment is at the core of everything I do; making decisions that feel true, even when they require courage or change. Integrity follows closely, in the standards I hold myself to and the way I show up consistently.
Sovereignty is essential to me, the ability to think independently, make clear decisions, and lead from within rather than external pressure. Alongside that is accountability, taking full ownership of my choices, my results, and the impact I have on others.
Authenticity is what keeps everything grounded. I believe there is real power in being fully expressed and not separating who you are from what you build.
And finally, a devotion to growth, not just in terms of achievement, but in the continuous evolution of identity. Being willing to expand, to be vulnerable, and to step into higher levels of responsibility and leadership.
Together, these values create coherence between my life and my work, and that coherence is what allows me to build something meaningful, impactful, and true.
