About Maria
Maria Joseph is an esthetics educator, beauty school instructor, skincare mentor, and teaching professional with experience in esthetics instruction, cosmetology education, student mentoring, skincare training, classroom teaching, and educator development. She currently serves as Educator at Empire Beauty School-Glen Burnie, where she has taught since about 2016, and as Instructor at Paul Mitchell Schools. Her background includes long-term esthetics instruction with Cortiva Institute, education mentoring through Esthetics Mentor Network LLC, and teaching experience with Children of America. Maria began her journey in the industry managing massage businesses in 2001 before pursuing formal training, completing her education at Steiner School for Aesthetics in 2013. She holds credentials as a Dermalogica expert, master sugarist, advanced aroma therapist, and apothecary specialist, and maintains membership in Associated Skincare Professionals.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Work for someone to get your feet wet. You have to network, network, network. You need a mentor. My top advice is get a mentor.
