Maria Belen Diaz, SHRM-CP, is a seasoned human resources leader currently serving as the Area Director of Human Resources at Marriott Vacations Worldwide in West Palm Beach, Florida. What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is gaining hands-on experience, as opportunities often come after proving your capabilities. At the same time, this presents a significant opportunity—when given a chance, you can demonstrate your skills, grow rapidly, and make a meaningful impact.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are honesty, integrity, empathy, and kindness. I believe that acting with these principles fosters trust, builds strong relationships, and creates a positive, collaborative environment wherever I am.
