Ten minutes with Mariah

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my skills to a combination of continuous learning, life experiences, purposeful leadership, and a genuine passion for helping others. Throughout my professional journey, I have learned that some of our greatest strengths develop through our willingness to remain curious, embrace challenges, and recognize opportunities for growth.

My background and interests have allowed me to develop a multidisciplinary perspective that connects mental health, sexuality, intimacy, education, and entrepreneurship. I believe this has strengthened my ability to communicate with diverse audiences, build meaningful relationships, think creatively, and approach sensitive topics with empathy, openness, and intention.

I also attribute my skills to my commitment to personal and professional development. I understand that effective leadership requires more than knowledge or credentials. It requires self-awareness, adaptability, compassion, and the courage to challenge conversations and perspectives that may otherwise remain unexplored.

Ultimately, my skills are rooted in purpose. Through my work and my brand, Intimate Harmony Rose and Intimate Harmony Coaching and Consulting, I strive to create spaces where individuals can explore their emotional well-being, relationships, sexuality, and personal growth without shame or judgment. I see my ability to connect seemingly different disciplines as one of my greatest strengths, allowing me to approach my work with both a strategic mindset and a deeply human perspective.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the most valuable pieces of career advice I carry with me is to never limit myself to one version of who I can be or what I can accomplish. I have learned that growth often requires stepping outside of your comfort zone, being willing to evolve, and having the confidence to pursue opportunities that align with your purpose, even when the path forward is not always clear.

I have come to understand that I do not have to fit into a predefined box to be successful. My ability to connect different disciplines, explore new ideas, and bring meaningful conversations to spaces where they are needed most is part of what makes my work unique.

That perspective has encouraged me to embrace my multifaceted interests, trust the value of my voice, and recognize that I can build a career that reflects both my professional expertise and my broader vision. Ultimately, I believe success is not just about reaching a particular position or milestone. It is about creating meaningful impact, remaining open to growth, and having the courage to build something that genuinely reflects who you are.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to any woman entering the field is to trust her voice, remain committed to learning, and never feel that she has to diminish who she is to make room for someone else's expectations. Give yourself permission to be a beginner, ask questions, take up space, and pursue opportunities that challenge you to grow.

I would also encourage women to understand the importance of authenticity, boundaries, and professional integrity. You will encounter moments when your perspective is questioned, your confidence is tested, or your vision is not immediately understood. Do not allow those moments to convince you that you do not belong. Instead, use them as opportunities to strengthen your expertise, refine your approach, and become more confident in the value you bring.

Most importantly, do not be afraid to bring your unique perspective to the table. Sometimes, the very things that make you different are what allow you to make the greatest impact. Build relationships with people who support your growth, remain open to mentorship, and remember that success does not require you to have everything figured out.

I believe women can be both compassionate and ambitious, both grounded in their expertise and bold in their vision. You do not have to follow someone else's blueprint to create a meaningful career. Be willing to create your own, and as you grow, make room for other women to grow alongside you.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges I face in my career right now is learning how to strategically bring together the different dimensions of my professional identity while continuing to grow, innovate, and expand my impact. My interests and work span mental health, sexuality, intimacy, education, and entrepreneurship, and I see tremendous value in the connections between these areas. However, the challenge is communicating that broader vision in a way that is cohesive, accessible, and meaningful to the audiences I want to reach.

I am also focused on expanding my visibility, building strategic partnerships, and creating opportunities that allow me to translate my knowledge and passion into sustainable programs, educational experiences, and community impact. Growth requires more than having a vision. It requires intentional planning, consistency, and the willingness to make decisions about where to invest my time and energy.

I view this season of my career as an opportunity to refine my brand, strengthen my professional positioning, and build a foundation for long-term growth. Rather than viewing these challenges as obstacles, I see them as part of the process of evolving into the leader and entrepreneur I aspire to become. My goal is to build something that not only reflects my expertise and creativity but also creates meaningful change in how people understand mental health, intimacy, and overall well-being.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important values in my professional and personal life are authenticity, integrity, compassion, continuous growth, and meaningful connection. I believe in showing up as my authentic self, remaining true to my principles, and treating others with empathy and respect. These values guide how I build relationships, approach challenges, lead others, and make decisions.

I deeply value personal and professional growth because I believe we should always be willing to learn, evolve, and challenge ourselves to become better versions of who we are. I also value empowerment, particularly creating spaces where people feel safe to use their voices, explore who they are, and embrace their individuality without fear of judgment.

In my professional life, these values influence how I approach mental health, sexuality, intimacy, education, and entrepreneurship. Through Intimate Harmony Rose, I want to encourage more open, informed, and compassionate conversations about subjects that are often misunderstood or stigmatized.

Personally, I value genuine relationships, mutual respect, emotional honesty, and the ability to maintain a sense of purpose while honoring my own well-being. For me, success is not simply about titles, recognition, or achievements. It is about living in alignment with my values, making a meaningful difference in the lives of others, and building a life and career that reflect who I truly am.

Ultimately, I believe the most meaningful success occurs when what we do professionally is consistent with what we stand for personally. I want my work, my relationships, and my leadership to reflect that principle.
