About Mariama
Mariama Daffeh is a dedicated student, caregiver, and mentor specializing in biology and pre-medicine. She completed her high school education in Gambia in 2022, graduating as the best science student and the female student with the highest GPA. She then attended Madison College, where she earned a place on the Dean's List with a perfect GPA and participated in a research project addressing antimicrobial resistance. Currently, she is completing her biomedical science degree at Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minnesota, with aspirations to become a dermatology doctor focusing on the elderly and neurological disorders. Alongside her academic pursuits, Mariama provides caregiving services to seniors with dementia and Alzheimer's, offering daily support including emotional care. She is also a mentor to over 1,000 students via her WhatsApp platform, sharing academic tips and advice, and has been involved in organizations such as the Animal Welfare Association in Gambia for six years, the African Students Association as vice president, and the Health Check Initiative, which distributes free sanitary pads.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Know who you are, know what you want, know your intentions and passions and just go for it. Do not be scared of the outcome or rely on someone else like a man to provide; have your own purpose and strive hard with balance in life.
