About Marian
Marian Pinkney is an experienced logistics and supply chain professional based in the Memphis Metropolitan Area, currently serving as Import Logistics Director at Titanic Furniture. With approximately 15 years of experience in the field, she oversees import operations and intermodal drayage across multiple distribution centers in Memphis, Chicago, and Greenville, managing the movement of roughly 200 containers per month. In her current role, she functions as an in-house broker and operations lead, coordinating carrier relationships and ensuring efficient, timely delivery across complex supply chains.
Her career began in air export operations at DHL, where she developed foundational expertise in international freight logistics. She later advanced to Mallory Alexander International Logistics, contributing to the growth of the drayage and intermodal division. During the COVID-19 period, she launched her own brokerage in partnership with Landstar System, gaining entrepreneurial experience while continuing to build strong relationships within the carrier network and expanding her expertise in brokerage and domestic transportation.
Marian’s professional focus centers on integrity-driven logistics operations, relationship-building with asset-based carriers, and delivering consistent service quality across supply chain partners. She maintains active industry connections through contracts such as Gemini Shippers and partnerships with global operators like DP World. She is also a graduate of American InterContinental University and is engaged in community service through local organizations including Memphis Parks and youth-focused volunteer initiatives, reflecting a strong commitment to both professional excellence and civic involvement.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to staying informed with all trends, reading up on everything, keeping my ear to the ground, embracing change, staying positive, and never giving up by sticking my neck out there and trying.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to embrace change and be positive about anything that's changing, especially in the logistics industry where things fluctuate.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering the industry to have patience and diligence. As long as you are doing great work and satisfying your customers, the rewards will come your way.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
There are lots of opportunities in imports, brokerage, and trucking. This industry will never dry up as we will always need trucks, imports, and attention to vessel sailings, routes, and weather impacts like the Panama Canal.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is key for me. Doing right by other people always comes back around as a blessing. I focus on looking out for people, helping people, and treating everyone with respect so that both truckers and shippers get a great customer experience.
